From Italy: We know who the Italian financiers of the Chilean terrorism are!

On February 15 2011, we read from some online Chilean newspaper: ‘The public prosecutor of the Caso Bombas is considering to arrest two Europeans in order to extradite them as they are considered the financiers of the Chilean anarchists involved in this case. During the hearing to discuss the detention conditions of Omar Hermosilla Marin and Vinicio Aguiera Mery (two of the 14 defendants in the case), held on Monday February 14, public prosecutor Rojas has declared that an Italian and a French are the alleged financiers of the anarchist Chilean group accused of committing at least 23 explosive attacks out of the 108 that were carried out in Santiago of Chile since 2005. According to the judiciary, the Italian deposited 900 euros in the bank account of Omar Hermosilla Marin, accused of illicit association with aim of terrorism. Moreover, according to Interpol investigators, the two Europeans traveled to Argentina on a number of occasions in order to support anti-State groups’.

As it is well known, on 14th August 2010 14 comrades were arrested in Chile and charged with illicit association with aim of terrorism. The infamous ‘Caso Bombas’ was set up, with its media show. The accusation is based on an imaginary hierarchical organization with interchangeable roles, headed by two former leaders of an armed struggle gang of the eighties and nineties (Mapu Lautaro) and by a so called ‘operational level’ formed by the comrades of squats and of the Biblioteca Sacco y Vanzetti. These places are the alleged hideouts of the imaginary organization, which would also rely on the money provided by financiers. At the moment the judiciary is seeking to obtain a hearing in order to ‘formalise again’ the charges against our kidnapped comrades, of whom 9 are being held in jail, 5 are on bail, one is on hiding and one is a collaborator of the public prosecutor (a guy known as ‘El Grillo’).

Considering that as early as 2007 the then Chilean prime minister Bachelet met former Italian home secretary Giuseppe Pisanu and that in 2009 Antonio Marini (of the Marini trial) was a paid consultant for Chilean cops and inquisitors of various kinds… we are not surprised by the fact that these vulgar theatrical shows set up ad hoc by would-be celebrity judges do also exist in the Andean country. In other words, dominion is sharpening its weapons on a global level in such a clamorous way; however, it is international solidarity in its many forms that is under attack here. Even if we have not received any warrant yet, one of the many benefit events organized following our journey to South America is being used to create a precedent to criminalized support practices with the aim to tear apart the international solidarity relations between countries. These relations are the life blood for those who think it is necessary to create a generalized conflict.

In fact, we believe that behind this filthy operation of the Chilean judiciary there stands the clear intention to interrupt the practises of counter-information initiatives, benefit events and production of video and paper material.

Is it not clear the intention to silence all testimonies of the massacres perpetrated by multinationals and by the Chilean State against the tenacious and combative Mapuche people?

Is it not clear the intention to intimidate those who have known the strength and dignity of some Chilean revolutionary prisoners, and have seen with their own eyes the ignoble conditions of one of the too many jails in the world? It is not obvious the intention to frighten those who have taken part to public talks on ‘social struggles and repression against the Italian anarchist movement’ in Argentina? Perhaps it is not by chance that in democratic Chile ‘foreigners’ are forbidden to attend any political initiative, under penalty of immediate deportation.

But since the very beginning, anarchists, with their skin-deep propensity to internationalism, have always been supporting and endorsing the most disparate situations of struggle and comrades all over the planet. Rightly, in the context of new born XXI century marked by social unrest and mass insurrections, anarchist anti-authoritarian ideas and self-organisation practices are still a potential threat to the States and to Capital.

We know who the Italian financiers of the terrorism in Chile are: Gruppo Angelini, Gruppo Matte, Enel/Endesa, Ansaldo, Intesa-San Paolo, Ansa Cile, B ticino

Solidarity from Iquique

From Iquique we send brotherly greetings to our imprisoned comrades, to which we dedicate the murals we painted today. For us, this is both encouraging and also shares information about your situation. We consider it primordial to pass from discourse into action. To make solidarity a weapon in the struggle. Don’t let it be left and done under a stupid democracy that grants us only present and future misery, manufactured and blotted past.

Today we created double murals. The people who walked through and around the rich little beach here commented on our gloomy pictures, and this is already something, this is something different than supporting the social peace which is actually just accepting the shit and organized crime, the ability of the rich to live free at our expense. Moreover, we are locked up if we do not like the peace based upon cowardice and shit. Even though the media operates complicity with the politicians, entrepreneurs, and police, all of them terrorists, there still are mediums which exist beyond their control; murals for example. So we encourage the protest threefold; through counter information, anti-authoritarian practice, and self organization, for we don’t only crave anarchy, we live it.

For the freedom of all prisoners, those on both sides of the walls!
Stop the montage!
Stop the lies!
Prisoners at war to the streets!
Health and anarchy!

Bombing in Santiago-Solidarity with Compañeros on Hunger Strike

A group calling itself the Xosé Tarrío Clandestine Antiprison Unit has claimed responsibility for a bombing that took place early Monday morning just outside an apartment building on Calle Las Luciérnagas in La Reina.

The explosion could be heard throughout a 15-square-block area, damaging nearby buildings and vehicles while sowing panic among neighborhood residents.

According to Carabineros sources, pamphlets were left behind containing anarchist-style ultimatums and references the “Caso Bombas”.

It was determined that the bomb consisted of a fire extinguisher filled with black powder, which was detonated by a match-lit fuse.

Day 7 of the Hunger Strike: Communique From Inside Maximum Security

During the first hours of Monday, February 21 we notified the guards of the beginning of our hunger strike. After completing the rigorous formalities, we were subsequently transferred to the solitary cells in maximum security, all of us were put on the same floor.

In the afternoon Camilo Pérez, Pablo Morales, Mónica Caballero, Francisco Solar y Rodolfo Retamales were taken to a hearing for a review of the interim measure, which was only another hoop in the cumbersome process in which the judge will not take the time to listen to the defense. His decision had obviously been made in advance. Preventative prison was confirmed for everyone in a hearing that lasted no more than two hours.

Tuesday night we met with the lawyers from the Public Defense who told us about the recent events and activities in the street, which highlighted the participated a group of people in active solidarity with the prisoners in the “Bombs Case” in a march against the increase of the cost of public transportation. The same day each one of us received a package sent by a group of people who played a large part in the events outside of the prison, who wanted to know about our situation. Giving this support injects a fundamental force in these moments and demonstrates that for many people solidarity is not just an empty word.

As expected, on Wednesday we were given the unfortunate news that Vinicio Aguilera and Omar Hermosilla had their conditional release revoked, so they will immediately reenter this foul place. Also as expected they both joined the hunger strike from the first moments, clearly demonstrating that they will continue without hesitation to depose the beatings of power.

During this week we were informed of the intimidation of communication carried out by prosecutor Peña against people close to and in solidarity with us. He is labeling them supporters of the supposed group, thereby threatening imminent early detention. We believe that the goal of these acts is to invoke a new uncertainty in order to stem the propagation of activities. However, despite the intention of Mr. Peña, the examples of active solidarity have not stopped.

In this manner, we learned of the march on Wednesday afternoon of over 200 people who the threats of the authorities are far way from immobilizing.

Thursday we received good news; through the gestation of the public defense lawyers, the 8th Court judge notified the prison guards that they have to release us from the punishment cells immediately, and according to his arguments, the hunger strike is a right that does not merit punishment, so now we will be transferred to the cells we were headed to before the hunger strike. It represents a success to leave the 4 days of punishment behind, but our intention is to stay united, all of us on the same floor, at least until end of the mobilization.

On average we have lost 4-5 kilos thus far in the hunger strike, but we keep our spirits up.
This is why we call for the uniting of ideas and actions of tendencies that wish to destroy the farce created by the prosecutor and his media-police montage.

NO TO THE ANTI-TERRORIST LAW, THEIR SECRET WITNESSES, AND VICIOUS LEGALITIES!

FREEDOM FOR ALL POLITICAL PRISONERS!

Demo in Solidarity with the Imprisoned Comrades of the “Bomb’s Case” on Hunger Strike

Around 200 comrades came together to march in the street to the center of Santiago for the release of and in solidarity with all comrades in prison.

The comrades kidnapped on August 14th continue the 4th day of the hunger strike, with the clear intention to gain their freedom and end the political-judicial montage they continue to be subjected to, under which those who express solidarity for them are persecuted, watched, and taken hostage.

It has been said many times before, ideas and liberating practices are being persecuted here. Outside market value, solidarity is dissidence, which once implemented, is criminalized and demonized at any cost to the repressive apparatus of power, including the press.

Yesterday (2/25/11), during the march in solidarity with the prisoners, an obvious harassment attempt made by the police and undercover agents was exposed. They did not succeed in disguising themselves with the landscape nor amongst our comrades. They were there before, during, and after with their disgusting cameras and notebooks filled with writing. We saw ridiculous characters changing their clothing during the march, taking pictures, fleeing, filming from rooftops, and following us after the march had ended. If they know the ideas we harbor, it is not because of a good intelligence work, but because we have never been hidden nor silent, to the contrary we wish to propagate, to share, and to live here and now.

If we remember the trial of formalization that took our comrades to preventative prison, it is easy to see that the proof that is continued to be presented against them, is not different at all from the proof that they could videotape or write yesterday during the march, in which a group of people who had never met, with common ideas, joined in order to manifest and publicly practice these ideas. Our comrades have been kidnapped from squats and popular libraries, or independent media and neighborhood tv channels, every practice of liberty is rooted in multiple faces (many which are public) of dissidence against power-capital.

Democracy invites us to the point of the bullet, imprisonment, and terror to pay passage, to accept a terrible job and keep us sitting in our houses watching tv. Against this we counterpoise our own celebration, not always so happy, but never as bitter as the lethargy of submission. Comrades: if we fight we could lose, but if we don’t fight we are lost…

Stop the repressive raids! Our dreams are in the streets! Prisoners to the streets!

Barricades in Solidarity with Our Brothers and Sisters on Hunger Strike

Barricades outside the Women’s Prison on the night of February 21st, hours after our brothers and sisters kidnapped under the “Bombs Case” initiated a hunger strike; we erected the barricades on both sides of Vicuña Mackena in front of the Women’s Prison, this must have come as more than a surprise for the prison guards who were sleeping at this time. This action was an extension of solidarity for the mobilization initiated, its character is reflected in the few hours we had to prepare since hearing of the strike. Still we think that our attacks must be precise and well-planned yet this cannot be an excuse for not responding to urgent situations. We do not seek in order to find, we act in the informal, Mr. Prosecutor, our actions are executed between affinities and groups that exist and that must exist: in the moment of the attack. Do not take us as idiots: THERE IS NO ILLEGAL ASSOCIATION HERE, just hearts engaged in War.

THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES

IMMEDIATE FREEDOM FOR THE PRISONERS IN HUNGER STRIKE

SOLIDARITY IS MORE THAN WORDS, IT CROSSES ALL WALLS

the noise that they heard was just a warning, touch a hair of our brothers or sisters and we will be much closer…

Statement from Women’s Maximum Security Section

It’s difficult to summarize the events of the recent wave of repression, the coarse televised spectacle cements itself in the political-judicial-police machine, reproducing and drawing from the Italian process known as “Marini” and “Cervantes” during which various social centers and squatted houses were raided and the inhabitants charged with being an “Armed Gang.” Operation Salamander (a similar Chilean species) captured 14 people under the charges of Illicit Terrorist Association, and of transportation or placing of explosive devices.

Affectionate friendships were transformed and mutated into a hierarchical structure. Many of the arrested never even knew each other.Who would have guessed that the idea of living without reproducing power would lead to us being judged as an Illicit Association? The political functionaries maintain that the squatted houses were utilized as conspiracy centers to manufacture bombs; they say nothing of the libraries for whomever might have interest in engaging in solidarity. Now these books are mere articles strewn among “so much proof”. The prosecutor speaks of organic proof found in areas where there were indeed some attacks, motherboards would be the certainty such of scientific proof, another swift kick to the ass of the oppressors: for all the biological proof, none of it implicates those charged on the 14th of August. All of the DNA tests were done by force by the prison guards and police.

The wiles of the prosecutor reach absurd heights exemplified by the “Pakistani Case” surrounding the complicity of mediums of mass communication, which for years have cemented the anti-terrorist discourse, setting the stage for the hunt that August 14th. Besides bringing the weight of an investigation spanning over five years, the accusers are asking for 180 days of preventative detention, arguing for an even more exhaustive investigation, which will not stop with the testimony of Gustavo Fuentes Aliaga. Normally, under due process the defense would get the investigative folder prior to the formalization of the charges, within the “Bombs Case” said folder was given to the defense after almost 3 months of incarceration, and was also incomplete. Recently after over 170 days in prison the prosecutor has delivered the “classified pages.”

Modesty cannot exist among intrusions into the intimate life of the accused, from intimidating small children to hundreds of electronically monitored phone calls which only prove friendly ties among the co-accused.

Inside this prison (CPF) we have been faced with many different types of interrogations- formal and informal- on behalf of different functionaries of the prison; vigilantes, criminal sociologists, social workers, etc. They search for a declaration or the appropriate delinquent profile. We disclose this information not with a feeling of victimization, but in order to warn those who can see themselves in a similar position, power use all of its tentacles to prolong incarceration. Harassment effects all of our brothers and sisters, friends, comrades, proud families, who have never bent their heads before a jailer.

We are to be processed under the law inherited from the Dictatorship, that has as one of its attributes secret witnesses, who have been used in the judicial processes of the Mapuche people, whether civil or military. In addition, this law gives increased sentences for common crimes. Lifting the preventative detention would not be enough because if the prosecutor or Superior Court wanted to change this decision its needs a unanimous vote, whereas normally it only needs a majority, this is another pitfall of the legal system.

The blows are not just against those kidnapped on August 14th, but all those who question the current police state: exemplary punishment for anyone who will not be ruled.

It is by this that today Monday February 21st, it has been more than 180 days since the raids and investigation, we begin a mobilization with characteristics of an indefinite hunger strike. Using our bodies as a means of demands:

1. Immediate release for all of those charged from the 14th of August, not one day more. Immediate trial.
2. End to the Anti-Terrorist Law. No more secret witnesses, no more unanimous vote.
3. Transfer to/and better prisons.

These our are last words for you all, comrades: leave no space for forgetfulness, this did not begin on August 14th, nor will it end with us. Our action would be meaningless if left inside these cold walls, times are complex, we expect to stay on top of our situation here. Let your imagination run wild and turn these words into action.

In the struggle against all forms of domination: NO ONE IS ALONE!!!
